These are mixed into a solution. It is assumed you must have spotted the bee nest. This method is the best control for ground bees. This bee species make their nests on the ground.

Before application, you must wear protective clothing.

Bees can take you by surprise. Plus, you can’t outrun them. This is more crucial if you miss the target, thereby annoying them. Your soapy mint water mixture should be carefully targeted at them.

We recommend splashing it on them as fast as you can. You can also use a hose to deliver the content more accurately.

This strategy will enable you to keep a safe distance.

Don’t hang around after application. Bees tend to surprise. So, find someplace to hide. Indoors preferably. You must ensure your doors and windows are locked to stop them from getting in.

  • Soda

Bees love sweet liquids. Soda is one of them. So, you can choose to use something they love against them. But how does it work?

Easy! Just get some soda bottle and cut in half. The bottom half should be filled with sweet soda. The next step is to place this close to bee infested areas. It won’t take long before they find it.

Bees get a little careless when drinking soda. They have nowhere to stand when drinking. This is worsened by not placing the contents in containers that are shallow enough. They get drowned in the process of drinking.

You can use as much as you like, in your yard to fight back. It also is an environmentally friendly strategy to get rid of bees.

  • Vinegar Spray

Vinegar has many uses including pest control. This product is found in most households. This is also an over-the-counter product you can purchase anywhere.

Vinegar and water are required to make the spray. This should be in the ration of 1:1. that is, mixing equal parts of water and vinegar.

Find a spray bottle and pour in the contents.

Now, you need to spray its contents on bees. We all know they won’t stand still and watch you right? As such, we recommend applying at a time they are less active; night time!

Don’t be deceived, the dark of night won’t help much if you don’t wear protective clothing. Protective clothing will include gloves, face netting, long-sleeved shirts, and pants. You also need a torch.

This should be sprayed on the nest. Don’t rush the process. Ensure the entire nest is drenched with the contents. By morning, your bee problem should have been solved. If not, repeat the process until you are totally satisfied.

  • Sugar Solution

Place a basin of water close to a bee nest. This basin should be filled with a solution of water and sugar. This lures them fast and kills as a result of drowning.

To make this method even more potent, add some liquid dish soap to the water. This will reduce the surface tension of the water. Thus, speeding the drowning process.

Keep this for as long as necessary until you there’s a marked improvement.

  • Mothballs

Mothballs are great bee deterrents. They give off a smell bees dislike.

You can take advantage of this by hanging them just close to the nest. Nighttime is perfect for getting the job done.

The continued irritation caused by mothballs will lead to bees vacating or relocating from their nests.

  • Smoke Them Out

Bees and smoke do not get on well. Bees get drowsy whenever smoke is involved.

Create a fire close to the nest that gives off smoke. If there are ways to generate sufficient smoke without much fire, then, by all means, apply it. This won’t give immediate results. But letting it last the night or a few days should force them to leave.

Smoking them out is cheaper and won’t get them killed.

  • Use Insecticides

A lot of insecticides are considered toxic. However, others aren’t. We advise you to search for environmentally friendly insecticides to exterminate bees. Most bee insecticides come as sprays.

There are also good homemade options for bee sprays.

Therefore, you will need to step close to the nest when applying, and this is the more reason you need to wear protective clothing.

These clothing aren’t anything special apart from gloves and long-sleeved pants and shirts. A face net is also essential.

These candles give off a scent. Though pleasant, bees detest it. So, you won’t find bees hanging around areas oozing with such scent. Place these candles at strategic bee-infested points.

Indoor environments provide better results as compared to outdoor areas.

  • Garlic Powder

Are you surprised by this? You shouldn’t be. There are so many useful applications for garlic. This includes getting rid of bees.

Get the powder and sprinkle around bee infested areas. Ground bees are best repelled by this method. If you can sprinkle on their bodies directly, the better.

Bees will find someplace else to nest when garlic is applied.

  • Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth

This substance helps lacerate the bodies of bees. They can’t survive its after-effects which is death by body fluid loss.

Ground bees are best targeted with this product. Sprinkle this around their nesting areas and leave. You should see dead bees after a few days or an abandoned nest.
