Examples of non-toxic treatments include frequent combing, cleaning around the home, use organic treatments such as essential oils, cut hair short, use olive oil, and coconut-containing shampoo.

Frequent Combing
One of the ways to get rid of head lice is by wet combing. This makes lice more visible, thus differentiating them from dandruff. To do this effectively, you’ll need to first wet your hair. This should be followed by applying a conditioning spray.
You may need tools such as a magnifying glass to zoom in on hair strands, thus helping you direct your comb to remove them. We must warn that this is a time-consuming process that shouldn’t be done when you’re in a hurry.

Cleaning Around the Home
If your kid(s) have lice problems, chances are that these have been transferred onto surfaces and items such as pillows, combs, brushes, hats, and helmets. As such, a thorough cleanup is required.
